Measure each run length and add 5–10% extra for mistakes and corners; sum all runs to get total linear feet or meters and consider buying trim in standard roll lengths or pre-cut pieces to minimize seams

Choose trims specified as UV-stabilized or made from UV-resistant materials like EPDM or UV-grade PVC, and check for temperature ratings and salt/ozone resistance if used in coastal or extreme climates

Clean surfaces thoroughly, dry them, use appropriate primers or adhesion promoters if required, follow manufacturer torque/fastener guidelines, and maintain by cleaning with mild soap and reapplying silicone sealant on seams annually or after damage

Trim prices typically range from budget options under $25 for short lengths or basic profiles up through $50–$100+ for longer runs or premium materials; higher-priced trims often use more durable materials, better UV-stabilization, or integrated sealing features
