Facial masks span a wide price range—budget options under $50 and premium products above that; price doesn't always equate to effectiveness, so prioritize ingredient lists, concentration, and suitable format rather than price alone

You can layer masks within a routine if ingredients are compatible: avoid stacking multiple strong actives (e.g., retinoids, high-strength AHAs/BHAs) at the same time, and apply calming or hydrating masks alongside routine cleansers and serums for best results; when in doubt, do a patch test

Store masks in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight; refrigerating sheet masks can enhance soothing effects but isn't required, and keep multi-use creams or gels tightly sealed and use within the manufacturer's recommended period after opening
