Avoid over-tightening—use ties with a suitable width and rated working load, consider low-profile or cushioned ties, and where required add protective sleeves or edge guards to prevent compression or abrasion of delicate conductors and insulation

Look for industry standards like UL 94 for flammability (V-2, V-0 ratings) and UL 1446 for electrical insulation compatibility where specified; automotive or industrial applications may call for additional specs such as SAE or RoHS compliance

Store ties flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and ozone sources; keep them in original packaging or sealed containers to minimize UV exposure and moisture, and use FIFO so older stock is used first
