OLEDs typically deliver superior contrast and viewing angles due to self-emissive pixels, which is valuable for dark-room viewing and off-axis seats; however, they often cost more than comparable LED/LCD or QLED sets and may have lower peak brightness for very bright-room viewing

Look for HDMI 2.1 or high-bandwidth HDMI ports for 4K120 and VRR support, low input lag, ALLM (auto low-latency mode), eARC for high-quality audio passthrough, and sufficient HDMI/USB ports for your devices

Avoid displaying static high-contrast images for long periods, use screen savers or pixel-shift features, enable built-in pixel refresh/automatic brightness limiters, and vary content; modern OLEDs include mitigation systems but occasional care reduces risk

Choose a platform with the streaming apps and ecosystem you use regularly, responsive navigation, regular software updates, and cast or AirPlay support if you mirror devices; brand platforms vary in interface and update cadence

Expect to pay a premium compared with mainstream LED/LCD sets; allocate additional budget for a compatible HDMI 2.1-capable receiver or soundbar, wall-mounting or a low-stand, and any extended warranty if desired
