Higher-priced brands often come with stronger build quality, better warranties, and longer-lasting components, but good value can also be found in mid-priced brands; consider warranty terms and expected travel frequency when budgeting

Prefer warranties that cover structural defects, wheel and handle failures, and zipper issues for multiple years; check whether the warranty is limited, requires registration, or excludes damage from airlines

Clean exterior surfaces with gentle soap and water, lubricate moving parts if recommended, store in a cool dry place, avoid overpacking to prevent zipper and seam stress, and repair minor damage promptly

Use packing cubes or compression bags to organize and compress items, fold heavier items at the bottom, use shoe bags, and place fragile items in the center surrounded by clothing for cushioning
