Metal (powder-coated steel or aluminum) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or composite boards resist rot and insects and require minimal upkeep; pressure-treated or naturally rot-resistant woods (like cedar) are durable but need periodic sealing or staining to maintain appearance

Prices vary widely depending on size and materials; budget models start under $100, mid-range durable tables commonly fall between $100 and $300, and premium or large commercial-grade options can exceed that range

Check whether the table ships pre-assembled or requires on-site assembly, the number and complexity of fasteners, whether tools are included, and the table's weight for positioning; some heavier metal or wood tables may require two people to assemble or move

For wood, clean regularly, apply a water-repellent sealer or stain annually, and sand/refinish as needed; for metal, clean, touch up scratches with rust-inhibiting paint, and keep hardware tight; for plastic/composite, wash with mild soap and avoid prolonged UV exposure when possible
