Remove accumulated leaves and debris regularly, rinse or shake the net to prevent rot or algae buildup, and dry before folding for storage; UV-stabilized nets typically last several seasons but longevity depends on sun exposure and handling

Netting is a flexible, lower-cost option that deters birds and some predators when properly tensioned above the water, but it provides less physical barrier than a rigid cover or fence and may be less effective against persistent animals
