Wipe dust and light dirt with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid soaking or high heat that can warp foam. Store flat or rolled (per manufacturer guidance) in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading or brittleness

Most craft foams are non-toxic for typical handling, but check product labels for certifications and VOC or phthalate information; avoid ingestion, supervise small children and pets, and allow adhesives and painted finishes to fully cure before use

Measure the total square inches or feet of your project and add 10–20% for waste and layering; craft foam prices vary by type and finish, with many consumer-grade sheets and rolls available in budget-friendly ranges under $50, while specialty or high-density foam costs more

Yes—acrylic paints adhere well to most craft foams, and sealers or clear coats can protect finished pieces; heat guns or steam can slightly shape some EVA foams, but test first and avoid overheating, which can melt or deform the material
