Replacement snaps and repair kits are widely available in common sizes; replacing typically involves removing the old snap with pliers or a small cut and installing a new snap with the same tool type (sew-on, press-fit, or snap setter)

On a budget, prioritize the correct snap type and size for your project and buy in multi-packs; inexpensive snaps can be fine for occasional-use items, but spend more on stainless or heavy-duty sets for high-use or outdoor applications

Choose finishes (brushed, polished, antique) and colors that complement surrounding hardware or fabric trim; plastic snaps offer more color options, while metal snaps provide a narrower but more durable set of finishes
