Most standard hangers are designed to fit common closet rod diameters and spacing, but measure your closet rod thickness and available width if you have narrow or custom storage; slimline hangers save space compared with bulky wooden styles

Wipe plastic, metal, and coated hangers with a damp cloth and mild detergent; avoid soaking wood—dust and wipe with a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly; replace bent metal or cracked plastic hangers to prevent garment damage
