Choose mats with carpet-grip studs, textured undersides, or anti-slip backing sized for your carpet pile; also verify that your chair casters are standard office casters—some soft casters perform better on mats and hard casters may need replacement to avoid mat wear

Carpet chair mats commonly fall into budget under $50 to higher-quality options over $100; higher-priced mats typically offer thicker, more durable materials, larger sizes, and better anti-slip features, while basic mats can be adequate for light home-office use
