Stretch Film

Choose based on application: hand stretch film for light wrapping and bundling, machine film for palletizing or high-volume tasks, and reinforced or puncture-resistant film for sharp-edged items. Consider film width (commonly 12–20 inches for bundling), gauge/thickness (12–23 microns for light to medium, higher for heavy loads), and cling level to ensure stability without residue

For typical office supplies and small equipment, light-to-medium gauges around 12–23 microns (approximately 40–80 gauge) are sufficient; choose thicker film (above that range) for heavier or irregularly shaped items requiring extra tear resistance and load stability

Pre-cut hand rolls are convenient for low-volume wrapping and individual bundles; bulk or jumbo rolls are more economical for frequent use or machine dispensing but require a cutter or dispenser and storage space. Match roll size to your usage rate to balance upfront cost and ease of use

Look for hand film with easy-tear perforations, high cling for fewer wraps, pre-stretched or extended wrap to reduce fatigue, and coreless or low-friction cores to simplify handling. Use manual or ergonomic dispensers to cut strain and reduce repetitive motion injuries

Store rolls upright in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and heat sources; maintain moderate temperatures (ideally 10–25°C) and avoid prolonged exposure to humidity or UV to prevent loss of cling and film degradation. Keep film on pallets or shelving to prevent deformation

Stretch film provides a moisture- and dust-resistant barrier for short- to medium-term protection during storage or transit but is not a sealed vapor barrier; for sensitive electronics or long-term storage, combine film with desiccants, anti-static options, or moisture-barrier packaging as needed

Estimate by counting typical bundles or pallets and multiplying by average wrap per unit: hand-wrapping small bundles may use one roll per several dozen packages, while palletizing uses more film per pallet depending on wrap layers and film gauge. Trial-wrapping a sample load gives the most accurate usage rate for budgeting
