Inspect hinges, latches, and panel integrity during cleaning and replace or repair damaged parts promptly

Use absorbent, dust-free bedding suited to your species (e.g., paper-based or aspen shavings for many small mammals) and provide a non-slip surface or liner to prevent injuries and protect flooring. Avoid cedar or pine shavings for most small animals and replace soiled bedding frequently to control odor and moisture

Many playpens are foldable or composed of interlocking panels for relatively compact storage and easy setup, but portability varies by material and size. For travel, choose lightweight panels with secure connectors and verify that the folded dimensions fit your transport space
