Budget soft cases often cost under $50 while rigid tubes and premium cases range higher; price generally reflects material durability, level of padding, closure quality, and brand features rather than rod compatibility

Many cases accommodate both types when rods are broken down, but some rigid tubes require reels removed or seats aligned; verify internal diameter and any reel-well accommodation if you prefer transporting rods with reels attached
