Specialty gaffer tapes are formulated for extreme conditions—look for products labeled weather-resistant, UV-stable, or high-temperature rated; verify the manufacturer’s temperature range and water resistance for prolonged outdoor exposure or hot environments

Peel slowly back at a low angle and pull parallel to the surface; for older or stubborn residue, warm the tape slightly with a hairdryer to soften adhesive and remove residue with a gentle adhesive remover or isopropyl alcohol, testing first on an inconspicuous spot

Gaffer tape prices vary by brand, roll size, and performance features; buyers who use tape frequently should compare cost per yard and consider multipacks for better unit pricing, while occasional users may prefer single rolls of a proven spec rather than bulk lower-cost options

Check venue rules for approved flame-retardant or fire-retardant certifications if tape will be used on or near drapes and set pieces, avoid covering ventilation or electrical labels, and ensure taped cable runs do not create tripping hazards by using flat, securely adhered paths
