Battery life varies widely—some last a few months, others up to a year depending on usage—so check expected runtime and charging method; maintenance generally includes keeping the lens clean, updating firmware, checking seals/gaskets for weatherproofing, and replacing batteries or worn mounting hardware as needed

Video doorbells usually require a stable Wi‑Fi connection (2.4 GHz is commonly supported; some models also use 5 GHz) and can use 1–2 Mbps for basic 720–1080p streaming per device; plan for higher bandwidth if multiple cameras or high-resolution continuous recordings are used
