Most kits are designed for DIY installation and require basic tools: tape measure, utility knife or hacksaw for cutting, drill/screwdriver for fasteners, and caulk for sealing; follow the manufacturer’s instructions for surface prep and fastener spacing

Keep the seal clean of dirt and debris, periodically inspect and tighten fasteners, lubricate moving metal parts nearby (not the rubber itself), and replace sections showing cracking, hardening, or significant compression loss
